I have become very tired this year of being drilled into by bugs for drops of the red stuff, something that doesn't happen in cold climes.

But there are some nice restaurants in Reykjavik; there is at least one British pub, and as I mentioned, an excellent fish 'n chips establishment. Lucy does seem to like a bit of the cold, I think. It also gives her a reason to knit lots of woollen things, and things......Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09028121782477111901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683318922990064067.post-27866696722735072712015-12-27T20:09:08.451+01:002015-12-27T20:09:08.451+01:00Your arrival description, Tom, gives exactly the i...Your arrival description, Tom, gives exactly the impressions that one would have on arriving in a strange new place. I must admit that from my biased pespective (not a lover of cold northern places) I'd be more likely to hang out in the warm apartment or to look out of the window from the shelter of a warm restaurant or pub. But I see that Lucy is warmly and fetchingly dressed for the weather so I'm looking foward to the further adventures of the intrepid duo.Natalie d'Arbeloffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07757081405040926647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683318922990064067.post-15927591400712785172015-12-27T17:19:17.715+01:002015-12-27T17:19:17.715+01:00Ha! As for the apartment, so often one can be disappointed with accommodation taken on trust. In this case, however, we were overjoyed with the apartment - particularly as the shower room and other facilities were excellent, an important point for me.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09028121782477111901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683318922990064067.post-40296027033209175382015-12-27T15:46:06.160+01:002015-12-27T15:46:06.160+01:00Hot water takes the sting out of icy weather. Remember the so-called Cod Wars between Iceland and the UK, which Iceland always won? I admit that the idea of a mini-volcano under the shower room floor was a tad exaggerated, but the floor was quite warm to the touch. There was the added advantage that the heat dried the room quite quickly.

As you're still with me, I must take you further in.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09028121782477111901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683318922990064067.post-64433630246048848352015-12-26T17:52:35.899+01:002015-12-26T17:52:35.899+01:00Your description of the houses makes me feel as th...Your description of the houses makes me feel as though I am approaching this snowy town ... lovely.
